This national park also serves as a significant breeding center for the Dalmatian Pelican. The globally endangered Pygmy Cormorant, among the renowned bird species, can be observed in this park. Covering an area of 27,675 square meters, the Dilek Peninsula-Büyük Menderes Delta National Park is approximately 23 kilometers from the center of Kuşadası. 2-Güvercinada

A prominent location that immediately comes to mind whenever Kuşadası is mentioned, Güvercinada is situated within the boundaries of the Hacıfeyzullah Mahallesi. Strategically positioned at a key point in the Kuşadası Gulf, Güvercinada Castle, originally utilized as a military outpost during the Byzantine era, underwent restoration in the Ottoman period. In 1957, a road was constructed, connecting the island to the mainland and facilitating easier access.

Constructed to defend against potential threats, particularly during the Mora Rebellion, the castle was later illuminated, modernized, and repurposed for tourism. Over time, the island has seen the establishment of restaurants and cafes; however, today it is primarily used for meetings and events for various purposes.

The island is enclosed by 3-meter-high walls for protection and provides a habitat for numerous bird species. Visitors to Güvercinada can witness captivating sunsets and savor the island’s unique atmosphere. The castle was built by Barbaros Hayrettin Pasha, while the walls were constructed by İlyas Ağa.

3-Sadrazam Öküz Mehmet Paşa Caravanserai

Constructed in 1618 by Grand Vizier Öküz Mehmet Paşa, the caravanserai is conveniently located within walking distance of the Kuşadası Harbor. This two-story, courtyard-style structure houses numerous arcades and rooms.
The epithet “Öküz” (Ox) in Mehmet Paşa’s name originates from his father’s ox farrier shop. The construction of the caravanserai was commissioned by Grand Vizier Öküz Mehmet Paşa and is enclosed by high stone walls. Additionally, the caravanserai is mentioned in Evliya Çelebi’s travelogue.
Presently serving as a tourist facility, the Öküz Mehmet Paşa Caravanserai offers free entry and provides visitors with a pleasant experience.
 

4-Kaleiçi Mosque

Located in the heart of Kuşadası and easily accessible on foot, Kaleiçi Mosque was commissioned by Öküz Mehmet Paşa in the 17th century. This mosque is situated alongside the Kaleiçi Hamamı caravanserai, also built during the same period. Ilyas Ağa, the Governor of Muğla at the time, contributed financially to the construction of a library adjacent to the mosque, enriching the site with Islamic works and opening it to visitors.

In addition to Kaleiçi Mosque, other historical mosques in the Kuşadası district include the Turkish Mosque built in 1650 as an alternative, the Camiiatik Mosque, the Hanım Mosque constructed in 1658, and the Hacı İbrahim Mosque. These mosques collectively represent some of the oldest mosques in the region. There is no admission fee to visit Kaleiçi Mosque.

5-Kadınlar Plajı

Kuşadası is a coastal town renowned for its famous beaches, and Kadınlar Plajı, awarded the Blue Flag, stands out with its crystal-clear sea and golden sandy shore. Located approximately 3 kilometers from the town center, the beach spans about 1 kilometer in length.
