Is a Visa Required to Go to TRNC?
If you are a Turkish citizen, you do not need a visa for your travels to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. You can stay in TRNC with your ID card or passport for a certain period of time without needing to get a visa.
How Many Days Can I Stay in TRNC Without a Visa?
If you use your ID card during your travels with Salambooking, you can stay in TRNC for a maximum of 30 days without a visa. If you enter with a passport, you can stay in TRNC for up to 90 days without needing a visa. You must obtain a visa for your stays exceeding 90 days.
In What Cases Do I Need a Visa?
- Official Visits and Business Meetings: A visa is required for business meetings, official visits, participation in fairs and seminars.
- Internship, Course and Exchange Programs: A visa application must be made for education, internship and course purposes.
- Work Permit Visa: Those who will travel for work purposes must get a work visa valid for up to 30 days.
- Residence Permit Visa: A residence permit visa must be obtained for travels for reasons such as family reunification, scientific research and education.
You need a visa or stays longer than 90 days even if you come for touristic reasons. You may get a penalty if you exceed 30 days when you go with your ID card and 90 days if you go with a passport. For this reason, you should not exceed the time given to you.
Which Countries Does TRNC Request a Visa From?
Citizens of Armenia, Syria and Nigeria must apply for a visa to enter the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. Citizens of countries other than these countries do not need to apply for a visa.
Why Should I Go With My ID Instead of My Passport?
- It reduces the risk of visa rejection in the future: Since the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus is a country that is not recognized by most countries, particularly Greece, having a TRNC stamp in your passport will reduce the likelihood of a positive result for the visas you apply for in the future (especially the Schengen visa). In order to avoid this, you can visit TRNC by using your ID card.
- You do not pay for an international exit stamp: If you travel to TRNC with your passport, you must purchase an international exit stamp. Therefore, it will be more advantageous to use your ID card, especially for your travels that will not exceed 30 days.

Important Notes
If you go with your ID, you will be given a document at the police checkpoint before you go. This document must be approved 3 times:
- Confirmation of your exit at the police checkpoint at the airport in Turkey,
- Confirmation of your entry into the country at the police checkpoint at the airport in TRNC,
- Confirmation of your exit from the country at the police checkpoint at the airport in TRNC.
It is very important that you do not lose this document during your trip. You should not lose this document, as the dates stamped on this document serve as evidence to check whether you have exceeded your travel time.
